Outback Canoe Rental

The day canoe and kayak trip is 4 to 5 hours of leisure paddling time, plus stops, averaging 3 to 5 1/2 hours. It is 8 miles on the water. You may combine canoes, kayaks and tubes on this trip. We transport you upstream from Outback Canoe Rental to the launch point at the Hopkinton Dam on the Maquoketa River where your fun-filled day begins. The time it takes to complete your trip depends on how long you stop on the beaches and how fast you paddle. Once on the river, the canoe, kayak or tube is yours for the rest of the day. There is no guide, you can set your own pace, stop where and when you want. You are on your own. You can stop to sunbathe on the beaches, swim, play or picnic. The trip will end back at your car. Be sure to bring plenty to eat and drink (up to 54 quart cooler will fit in your canoe). Please bring plenty of garbage bags to put your litter in.

The trip from the Hopkinton Dam to the end point takes approximately 4 to 5 hours of floating time. This depends on how many times you stop and the water level.

All canoe rentals include: canoe, life jacket for each person, 2 paddles, shuttle service and sales tax. All kayak rentals include: kayak, life jacket, one double paddle, shuttle service and sales tax.  All tube rentals include: tube, life jacket, shuttle service and sales tax.
